Wildfire workshop series returns for its second year!

About Wildfire Workshop

Wildfire Workshop is an interdisciplinary event hosted by the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), supported by the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) and UNBC’s Office of Research and Innovation. The workshop brings together students, faculty, researchers, wildfire experts, and community members to explore and strengthen wildfire resilience in northern British Columbia.
The event highlights the wide-reaching impacts of wildfires, from environmental and ecological concerns to social, economic, and cultural dimensions. Wildfire Friday emerged as a response to this urgent challenge by creating a platform for sharing knowledge and building relationships.
By connecting students, researchers, practitioners, and local communities, Wildfire Workshop aims to lay the groundwork for a more adaptive, inclusive, and resilient future in the face of climate-driven wildfire threats.
